Craniosynotosis is the term
for a group of conditions in which a child's head develops
abnormally because the seams between the bones close
prematurely. The head may become overly long or wide,
or a combination of both. The condition can make a child's
face appear flat or concave (pushed-in). The child's
eyes bulge because the eye sockets are small and shallow.
If no action is taken, the boy will die due to the pressure
of the brain acting on the skull.
